Sears sold at least three models - a moped of 50cc's and a 150 cc and a "Twingle" 250.
The Twingle had two pistons in a common compression chamber - saw a couple of them but never had opportunity to dig into an engine.
The mopeds were quite reliable with a top speed of about 75 kmph ( 40 mph. It was possible to get the highest speed by pedalling furiously to assist the engine! Puch's (Alstate) were sold in Canada as well as the USA - a friend of mine rode one on a 1000 km trip and other than sitting still for a long time - it was an enjoyable experience. I did meet one guy who crossed Canada on his - just buzzing along enjoying life as the 5,000 kms passed!
Anyone else know anything more about the mechanical side of the " twingle" design? Guess it doesn't qualify as a thumper does it?
Keep the rubber side down
